Product Update: Past Due Invoice Reminders
PRODUCT UPDATE
Past Due Invoice Reminders
Small businesses can now see all past-due invoices in one place and send one reminder per customer that covers every invoice they owe.
Released: June 17, 2026
In Short
Autobooks added a Past Due tile to the small business dashboard. Small businesses can now send one reminder email per customer that covers every past-due invoice at once, instead of one reminder per invoice. Their customer can pay all outstanding invoices in a single transaction. No configuration required.
What's new
Before this update, sending reminders meant going invoice by invoice. If a customer had three past-due invoices, that was three separate reminders and potentially three separate payments to track.
The Past Due tile changes that. It gives small businesses a single view of every customer with an outstanding balance, sorted by the number of invoices owed. From there, one Send Reminder button per customer sends an email covering every invoice they owe.
Why does it matter?
For a small business owner, collecting on past-due invoices takes time they don’t have. One reminder per customer instead of one per invoice means less work. On the receiving end, their customer gets a single bookmarkable link where they can choose which invoices to pay and settle everything in one transaction.
For your institution, this is a more effective receivables experience inside digital banking. When small businesses collect faster, they stay more engaged with the tools inside your channel. That engagement is visible, connected data that reinforces the value of Autobooks as part of the banking relationship.
How does it work?
The Past Due tile appears on the Autobooks dashboard whenever a small business has at least one past-due invoice. It lists up to five customers sorted by number of invoices owed. Small businesses with more than five customers carrying open balances can click See all past due invoices to view the full list, or click any customer’s name to see their past-due invoices individually. Clicking Send Reminder opens a summary window showing the customer’s name, total outstanding, and a quick payment history: invoices past due, last reminder sent, and last payment received. The recipient email is pre-filled and can be edited before sending.
Their customer receives one email with a secure, bookmarkable link to their payment page. All past-due invoices are selected by default. They can deselect any, choose a payment method (credit card, bank account, or Apple Pay), and pay everything selected in one transaction. One consolidated receipt follows, listing every invoice paid, the total, the payment method, and a confirmation number.
On the small business side, payments that covered multiple invoices show a Source row in the Payments list. Clicking it shows a breakdown of each invoice and the amount applied.
This is separate from the automated past-due reminder emails in Invoice Settings. Both can be used together.
Who has access?
Available to all small businesses at all financial institutions. The Past Due tile appears only when a small business has at least one past-due invoice.
